'Northern' Oak Hairstreak  -- Satyrium favonius ontario

Notes: The specimen above was live-captured and released after ID was determined. It's the only one I've ever seen in Maryland. Also called 'Northern' Southern Hairstreak. The photos were taken through a plastic collecting jar.
Occurrence: rare
Range: entire state
Flight: mid-June
Larval hostplants: Scrub Oak, Post Oak
